WHAT DOES HEALTHY WEIGHT LOSS LOOK LIKE?

When thinking of losing weight you should ask yourself how much weight is safe to lose in what amount of
time? If you drop weight to fast it can be unhealthy, make you sick, and you might just be losing the wrong kind of weight. "Wrong kind of weight, what is that"! Well lets look at what a safe amount of weight to lose is and the answer may revile itself. A safe amount of weight lose should be 1- 2 pounds a week, which works out to about 8 pounds a month. Some of you may think that is not enough but slow and steady wins the race. According to the CDC's page on losing weight, people that lose 1 - 2 pounds a week are more likely to keep it off in the long term. So if you rush and lose to much all in one shot it my just find its way back on you.
Second, one of the reasons it comes on so fast is because of the type of weight you lost in the first place. Most extreme diets that allow you to lose weight fast cause you to burn not just fat but protein which is stored in your muscles. Just like the old saying goes muscle weighs more than fat so when the pounds come flying off don't get to excited because it's not the weight you want to be losing.

  1. Aaron, you are correct. I have a very close Uncle who has lost 102 lbs. It took him over two years to lose it. He tried all the diets out there, and what you describe above is exactly what happens. When he changed his eating habits and the amount of food he ate along with lots of water and regular exercise, he lost the weight and has kept it off. Great article!!!!

    1. Thank you! I wish more people understood this. There is so much trickery out there when it comes to diet pills and weight loss miracles. So many people are tricked out of there time and money.

  2. Permanently changing your eating habits is the only way to make a change that lasts. Anyone that treats weight loss like a temporary thing will just end up regaining the lost weight
